齋藤 徹 TETSU SAITO


東京生まれ。

ダンス、舞踏、演劇、美術、映像、詩、書、邦楽、雅楽、能楽、西洋クラシック音楽、現代音楽、アストルピアソラなどタンゴ、ジャズ、即興音楽、韓国やアジアのシャーマニズムと深く関わってきている。アジアとヨーロッパを繋ぐ「ユーラシアン・エコーズ」は日本・韓国・シンガポールで実施、福岡アジア美術館の開館記念・座高円寺での「オンバク・ヒタム」のプロデュースも行っている。 1994年アヴィニオンの国際コントラバス祭に招かれ、この頃から頻繁にヨーロッパに行き、ミッシェル・ドネダ、バール・フィリップスらと演奏を展開。神奈川フィルの委嘱で2つの二重協奏曲を作曲、演奏。NHKで「即興」に関する5番組制作。ダンス審査員、上智大学・早稲田大学などで講義、障害者との共演・ワークショップを行っている。世界各国でのコントラバス祭に招待されワークショップや演奏を行う。2007年個人レーベル「トラヴェシア」を創設。20枚のCD,DVDを発表。

Tetsu Saitoh (Contrabassist, Composer)

Born in Tokyo, Japan and heavily influenced by dance, Butoh, theatre, fine art, film, song, writing, Japanese folk music, Gagaku, Noh theatre, Western classical music, modern music, Tango music of Astor Piazolla, free improvisation, and Korean-Asian shamanism. Eurasian Echoes is a work connecting the cultures of Asia and Europe and was performed in Japan, Korea, and Singapore.Ombak Hitam was an event produced for the opening ceremony of the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum and the Za-Koenji Public Theatre in Tokyo. In 1994 he was invited to the International Contrabass Festival in Avignon, France. Since then, he has frequently visited Europe and performed with artists such as Michel Doneda and Barre Phillips. He was asked by the Kanagawa Philharmonic to compose and perform two double concerti. Additionally, he made five television programs about improvisation for Japanese public broadcaster NHK. He has also judged dance events, been a guest lecturer at Sophia and Waseda Universities, and performed and led workshops together with disabled performing artists. He has been a featured performer and led workshops at Contrabass Festivals around the world. In 2007 he founded the label Travessia which as of 2016 has produced 20 CDs and DVDs.
